1. Getting Started

A Bird's-Eye View

Hi, Pip here, I'm here to help you through the process of building your Property!

Building your Property App in Pip might seem like a massive task but it's actually a lot easier than it looks. However, I do have some recommendations on how to get started and what to do before building to make the process fly-by!

My Criton App Builder allows you to quickly and simply choose the features you need for your Property, upload your own content and images, and then publish to Pip all in a few easy steps.

Getting Started – what do you need to build your Property?

Consider your Property's structure & content

Before you start building your Property, I'd recommend you start by making a list of the type of features you'd like it to have.

Maybe try making a list of the sections you want in it and then consider their importance. What, in your opinion and from your experience, will be the first elements your guests will want to know? Is it the Wi-Fi password, the contact info with instructions on how to get there, is it your recommendations or how-to guides?

You might also want to think about the size of your Property – do you want a lot of features for more content or less for easier navigation?

Basically, ask yourself what you want your Property App to be for your guests. You will see in the example below that there are a lot options of pages that other customers have used. That does not mean you need to add the same type of content. It is more about how you envision your App, what content do you know your guests want and need?

Here are some examples of pages that a few of our customers have added:

  • Welcome
  • Guest Info
  • Wifi Password
  • Local Food and Drink
  • Local Attractions
  • What’s On
  • Weather
  • Emergency services
  • Social Media
  • TripAdvisor Review
  • Book direct
  • Late check-out
  • Early check-in
  • Travel
  • Car Parking
  • Find Us
  • Contact Us

You can include as many or as few of these as you like! Of course, this is just a draft phase, you will likely change your mind about some elements while you are building the App, but it is a good exercise that will allow you to build it with a clear idea of what you want it to be!

You'll also want to make sure you've got any images and videos you'd like to add too, along with any logo you might want to upload to the background of your Property.

Adding content – ready for the nest step?

Now that you have everything you need, it is time to start building your Property App!
